Live Light is a spin-off company of a very well-known furniture provider in Belgium. Live Light does not directly sell nor resell furniture; rather, they rent out furniture to their customers.
Live Light on “Furniture as a Service” – Live Light offers premium monthly subscription for furniture on office and home settings. Subscriptions range from 1 to 48 months, where delivery, installation and pick up are care of Live Light. Once subscription has started, customers have the flexibility to swap, return or purchase the furniture. Live Light gives the opportunity to businesses and consumers experience their dream interior set-ups at affordable prices.
Live Light before Odoo was very challenging in terms of tracking inventory and subscriptions, since they started with using excel files. But as the business grows, documentation through excel files had become demanding and lead to manual monitoring. Another challenge was manually preparing hundreds to invoices monthly.
Since Live Light has a unique business model, it was a hurdle to look for a ready-made solution that would fit their needs and solve their problems. As a start-up company, they were also seeking for an affordable and adaptable ERP system. Upon discovering Odoo, not only their problems were solved but also they were able to customize their Odoo platform at a reasonable price. And so during early 2021, Live Light has started to implement Odoo.
Key applications being used by Live Light are: Subscriptions, Inventory, Sales, Website Builder, Accounting and eCommerce --- all these were previously done in different applications and were eventually done manually. Ergo, Odoo has helped Live Light save time and effort, and has helped their frustrated employees on tracking their tasks on hand and improved customer experience and feedback.
Although Odoo has been a wonderful fit for Live Light, there were also minimal challenges that needed to be customized: the Subscription app was not adapted to the physical products, prices on products are not aligned with the computation per subscription period per product, the website on eCommerce needed some adjustments to align with the branding and improve customer experience, and lastly, setting up reports with current data across different applications wasn’t that simple.
